Lino Tagliapietra is one of the world’s most influential glass artists. His work is held at galleries and museums around the world including the De Young in San Francisco, the Victoria and Albert in London, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. In 2017 Lino opened his 6,100 square-foot Seattle studio to display his work for both art collectors and the public. Upon completing construction, Lino’s team wanted to develop a special web page to help promote the studio.
The key challenge was to figure out how to best capture Lino’s work digitally. As light and movement play key roles in his work, I worked with Lino’s team to develop a media heavy website showcasing videos of rotating pieces and dramatic photography in order to bring the wonder of his works to the digital sphere.
Additionally, in order to cater to Lino’s international audience, some of whom may not be able to visit Seattle, I shot and designed an interactive 360-degree studio tour compatible with VR headsets. The finished product is an immersive experience that captures Lino’s dramatic work and beautiful studio.
